Our Favourite Wedding Venues in Regina, Saskatchewan

Your wedding venue sets the scene for your wedding day – quite literally!! It determines so many things about your wedding from the flow of your timeline, vendors you work with, logistics, rentals, and so, so much more! Without a venue, it’s hard to settle on a wedding date and begin the rest of your planning journey by connecting with your future vendor team.

With that said, saying yes to your dream venue is a big decision. Sometimes, couples immediately know where they want to get married. Other times, the answer isn’t so clear. It can be overwhelming, and stressful right off the hop.

We’ve spent years working in the industry and creating relationships to make the process easier for you. This list breaks down some of the cities best hidden gems and well loved favourite places to say I DO.

Because educating couples is our thing, we’ve also included basic info such as the venues website, important industry insider info, and things we love about the space. Narrowing this list down was hard and, just because a venue in the city isn’t on this list, doesn’t mean it isn’t a great place to get married.

Alright – let’s get started!

What we love about it:

  • The building is absolutely beautiful, and provides couples with an incredible canvas to work with.
  • Two different integrative spaces are versatile which provides couples with the options of both flexibility and creativity to build their wedding day timeline. You can have your ceremony in one space, and move to the next, or ceremony and reception in one space.
  • The venue is centrally located downtown making it easy to access for your vendor team and guests.

Important to Note:

  • To book the space, several different time packages are available for couples with the option to add on time the day before to do set up, and the day after for clean up. Our recommendation is for couples to always budget for this extra cost, as it allows set up and tear down (both equally important parts of your day) to be given the time they allow without cutting into the time you spend celebrating.
  • Local Market is a venue that requires you to bring nearly everything in for your wedding day. This includes tables, chairs, linens, and any specialty glassware. They do however, provide couples with the option to reserve a few items such as glassware, and have the plates provided as part of catering.
  • Bar services are provided in house, and you won’t need to worry about providing bartenders.
  • Catering services can be included in your package, and there is the option of both plated and buffet service. For late night snack, you can bring in your own food, or include that as part of your package.

What we love about it:

  • They offer a wedding weekend package. You check in on Friday, and check out on Sunday providing you with time and space for all of your wedding activities. There’s space for a ceremony, reception, cocktail hour, a bridal suite, catering area, ample parking and 3 guest rooms.
  • Their two main event areas, the interior hall, and the 4 season greenhouse has a max capacity of 150 between both spaces. We recommend having a smaller guest list if you are looking to use one space at a time, or host all guests in the greenhouse for your ceremony or reception.
  • With our Saskatchewan summers, the glass windows in the greenhouse provide the most beautiful backdrop for your wedding day and your photos!
  • The design of the space provides couples with a blank canvas to create their wedding from neutrals, to bright colours, it is the perfect canvas to work with.

Important to note:

  • The Station is a venue that requires you to bring in nearly everything for your wedding day. Tables, chairs, linens, decor, and catering. They do have packages in partnership with Special Event Rentals for couples as well which gives you everything you need!
  • The venue boasts one larger event space, The Solarium. If you are wanting to have your ceremony and reception in that space, a room flip will be required. This means, you’ll likely have to opt for an earlier ceremony, and make sure you have a coordination team (check out our coordination package if you need some help) to manage the room flip for the reception.
  • Their capacity between both event spaces is 150 max. We recommend a smaller guest count if you are interested in using one space

The Atlas Hotel

What we love about it:

  • This venue provides couples with options on nearly everything for their day. As the hotel has a large array of rooms, you can select the room that works best for your guest list count, and the type of day you want to have.
  • Being a hotel, the venue provides extra convenience for you and your guests. Booking one of their guest rooms or spacious suites provides you with all of the getting ready space, so you can sip a mimosa and make memories with your bridesmaids and at the end of the night, head to bed without having too far to travel.
  • Your guests both those who are travelling, and those who may want a little staycation, can also book a guest room staying directly on site.
  • They have waterslides!

Important to note:

  • The Atlas provides a variety of packages, spaces, and catering options for your wedding. They also provide things like tables, chairs, basic cutlery, and linens.
  • Like most hotel venues, they will more than likely have a minimum spend on prime dates and packages. This means that you’ll agree to spend a minimum amount in food and beverage ahead of service charges and tax. For most weddings, this works out between the cost per person for food, as well as beverage spend.
  • On the day of your wedding, a food and beverage manager will be on site. While they aren’t a wedding coordinator, (here’s the difference and why it matters) they do provide assistance with things like moving tables, and managing catering and bar staff which can be a helpful perk.

What we love about it:

  • Overall, they are one of the most beautiful places in the province. Every space in the hotel is beautiful enough to stand alone, or be enhanced with the decor of your choosing.
  • The Royal Suite (you know, the one Queen Elizabeth, Justin Bieber and The Rolling Stones have stayed in) is the perfect getting ready location for larger bridal parties.
  • Convenience is provided to you and your guests in the form of guest room bookings, as well as the on-site restaurants including Circa 27 Lounge, and the newly opened The Burrow.
  • They are a full service venue providing both event spaces, food and beverage, tables, chairs, a stage, and basic glassware and cutlery. Of course, you can bring in your own rental options, but their team makes it easy to have everything in one place.

Important to note:

  • The Hotel Saskatchewan offers venue spaces and sizes for everything from a small intimate wedding, to a large celebration of 300 people.
  • Like most hotel venues, they do have a minimum spend on food and beverage that varies depending on the space and date you’re booking.
  • Due to the building being nearly 100 years old, their load in space is more challenging to work with as it’s at the back of the hotel in a smaller alley. You’ll be required to manoeuvre through a few floors and a service elevator. I have done this many times, and it’s easy enough, but does require a few extra logistical notes to be made. Additionally, several vendors in the city may charge an extra delivery fee due to the extra time and labour it takes to load into most of their rooms.

What we love about it:

  • It’s the perfect setting for an outdoor Saskatchewan wedding. The view over looking Wascana Lake is incredible, and makes for the most gorgeous backdrop for sunset photos.
  • The deck is spacious enough for a larger guest list to be seated for dinner, while also providing cocktail hour space, and room for a dancefloor.
  • Bar Willow is located in the heart of Regina and is easily accessible. There’s tons of parking and options near by for accommodations for wedding guests.
  • Their service team provides the full appetizer, meal, bar and late night snack package using their attached kitchen. We’ve worked with their team before and they take care of every little detail in the highest quality.

Important to note:

  • We recommend this space for receptions only.
  • There is ample parking space, but sometimes their lot can get busy with various activities on a Saturday in the summer which is important to note if you are going to have a busy day of set up with vendors coming and going.
  • Because Bar Willow primarily operates as a restaurant, they don’t take regular wedding bookings like most places, and they’ll require you to have all of your rentals, decor, guests and personal items out at the end of the evening so they can be prepared for brunch service the next morning.

Skye Cafe & Bistro
Capacity: 40-50

What we love about it:

  • Skye Cafe & Bistro is truly a gem in Regina. It is the perfect place if you’re looking for a smaller, intimate venue to host a wedding that is unique and perhaps non-traditional.
  • Their patio space is the perfect setting for a quaint, cozy reception, and the decor of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful if you’re looking for a venue that has a garden inspired vibe.
  • The food is impeccable, and their team has the ability to provide everything from appetizers, a full plated meal, dessert and bar service.

Important to note:

  • Skye Bistro operates as a restaurant first and foremost. The number of weddings they take on is limited, which generally means a smaller booking time frame. In some cases, we’ve had couples book 8 to 10 months in advance of their wedding, aside from the more traditional timeline of 12 to 18 months.
  • The restaurant is open for service until 3, and storage space on site is limited. This means that if you are having your reception at Skye, rentals, florals, decor, etc. generally cannot be delivered until the restaurant is closed to the public. And, following the wedding, all rentals, decor, florals, must be removed so they can resume regular business hours the following day.
  • As the venue is small, if you’re looking for a dancefloor to tear up all night long, considering another venue may be the best option for you. While Skye does have a wooden patio just outside of it’s front doors, that space is managed by the Saskatchewan Science Centre.
  • Due to the intimate nature of the venue, your floorplan both inside and outside is limited to the available tables and chairs. This means that some tables have 4, some would have 8, and some even have 2. Making sure your floorplan is managed and designed well is important in a space like this.
