Hotel Saskatchewan Wedding

Nestled in downtown Regina, the Hotel Saskatchewan is one of my favourite venues in the city especially if you’re wanting a romantic, timeless, yet elevated wedding. My clients, Chancelle & Scott wanted exactly that and chose the iconic property as the place they would say I Do!

Living in Calgary, yet getting married in Regina meant they were planning a destination wedding. Chancelle had a vision, and she wanted to make sure it came to life. For 10 months, I worked with them virtually providing coordination assistance – making sure their timeline was in order, floor plan was ready, details were in place, and that everything was exactly on track.

The morning of their wedding was the perfect Saskatchewan spring day with clear skies, a light breeze, and a mid twenties temperature. Chancelle got ready with her girls in the Royal Suite at the Hotel Saskatchewan, while Scott arrives with his groomsmen just before their 2:00pm ceremony.

As guests arrived in the Regency Ballroom, they were welcomed in by The Listesto Trio – a string quartet covering a number of the couples favourite songs. It was the perfect way to set the tone and vibe for their black tie affair! The room was tastefully decorated with gold chivari chairs and stunning white rose florals designed by Eva Joy Designs with the crystal chandeliers on full display. Chancelle walked down the aisle toward Scott with her dad to a rendition of ‘No One’ by Alicia Keys; a moment we had carefully planned together that was more perfect than we ever could have dreamed.

Following their ceremony, guests were welcome back later in the afternoon for cocktail hour and the reception. The couple headed out with their bridal party and the every lovely Brooklyn Caroline Photography on a Peekaboo limo for photos while the Wish team began flipping the Regency Ballroom for their reception. We had just 2 hours to transform the space for nearly 200 guests moving chairs, loading in tables, centrepieces, decor, and all the personalized touches that Chancelle & Scott were dreaming of. With time to spare, we nailed their vision. Every name card in place, every favour placed with care, and each centrepiece styled to perfection.

Cocktail hour began with Chancelle & Scott mingling with their guests as everyone enjoyed passed appetizers and an epic signature cocktail menu with the Listeso Group playing in the background. Their guestbook was a movie poster featuring cartoon versions of the couple. It was so unique, and complimented the style of their wedding just right.

Dinner was served plated style with the choice of short rib, chicken or fish by the incredible catering team at the Hotel Saskatchewan, and then it was time for toasts. Chancelle & Scott’s toasts were some that I will never forget. Everyone spoke so highly of them both as individuals and as a couple. At the end during their thank you speech, Scott shared a few stories about the moment he knew Chancelle was the one. For me, it highlighted how important it is to marry your best friend, and how grateful I am to be invited into such a special moment in ones life.

The party kicked off with All In Events keeping the dance floor packed all night! Guests enjoyed pizza as a late night snack, many of them opening the homemade fudge favours made by Scott’s mom. By the time last call was announced, it was hard to believe such an incredible day had come to a close!
